Katya & Will’s wedding day took place across Holy Trinity Church, Blythburgh and Sibton Park. To ensure the seamless flow of events, our planning team had organised a taxi rank, a coach for set event times and traditional red London buses (Routemasters) across the entirety of the weekend.

As the day unfolded with joy, we reflected on working with the couple for over a year to design and plan four days of events (inclusive of an intimate family welcome dinner, a drinks reception, a woodland fire feast, the ceremony at a local church, two marquees, lake swimming and a hangover lunch followed by a pool party). Not to mention transporting 175 guests between the two estates at The Wilderness Reserve throughout the weekend, curating and delivering welcome gift bags, keeping spirits up despite the unpredictable British weather, running a glamping village on site and of course, the pièce de resistance of keeping the James Blunt performance a secret.

A kaleidoscope of colour, their wedding style embraced a palette of yellow, green, pink and orange hues, presented in a natural, textured and organic style. Jen at Liberty Lane Flowers curated exquisite floral design across the wedding day, filling the church with white and green palettes to follow a neutral, quintessentially English feel while respecting the history and architecture the church has to offer. As guests made their way through the entrance, they walked through a stunning floral archway featuring two beautifully scented candles. For their wedding dinner, statement table centrepieces were designed using predominantly English grown flowers (avoiding the use of floral foam as a commitment to sustainability).

The bride arrived at the church in a vintage Bentley, walking into the dulcet tones of a close friend playing the guitar during the service. Following the ceremony, guests returned to the Wilderness Reserve for the drink reception, where they were greeted with a caviar cart to make themselves a Bellini with a shot of vodka. Meanwhile an ALR Music acoustic 1950s Cuban band performed in the background, contributing to the laidback yet lively ceremony atmosphere.

An elegant Sperry Tent awaited the wedding dinner, softly styled with bespoke green velvet tablecloths and English varieties of blousy blooms. As guests wined and dined, a magician entertained between each course, while each escort card featured origami fortune tellers that revealed personalised questions about the couple. As the couple met in India while working on safari and love bird watching, the tables were all named after Indian birds for a truly personal touch. After the feast, guests were guided into a PBI glass marquee which was transformed into a tropical oasis for cocktail hour (alongside a decadent dessert station), with hanging lanterns and Indian floral garlands suspended above a large circular bar area. Bespoke ice cubes added an extra dash of luxury to the occasion, with cocktails featuring an ice cube with the couple’s name stamped on. The Orangery featured an island of sofas that were placed by the dancefloor, a DJ booth and even a tiger ice vodka luge. A showband started an evening of dancing, before a surprise performance by James Blunt wowed Katya, Will and their guests, when the night was then finished off with a saxophonist and trumpeters accompanying the DJ. But for those who wanted to carry on partying, an after-party awaited in the basement.

Despite the rain, our team delivered a seamless event, creating an incredible day for Katya and Will.
