PERSONABLE PLANNING

I graduated from university with a degree in Law, and thought that my career path was well lit and clearly laid out in front of me. However, it wasn’t until my husband Ben and I tied the knot a year later that I realised my proposed career plan was missing a crucial element – the joy. Planning our wedding sparked something in me, allowing me to exercise both the creative and organisational parts of my brain. I knew that this was where my heart lay, and decided to start a career in the industry – studying for a diploma in wedding planning, and launching the company in 2012.

I’m always learning, and love to take inspiration from everything around me and use it to influence the weddings and events I create. Everything from fashion and film to, art, architecture and travel can form the jumping off point for some design inspiration. It’s part of what I love so much about this job – inspiration is around every corner, and no two events, indeed, no two days are ever the same.

When I’m not in work-and-weddings mode I’m at home with my gorgeous family – my husband Ben, two adorably exhausting children, Annabelle and Harry, and our fluffy ball of energy, Brian the Westie. I’m an autumn and winter girl, and love it when the nights draw in and I can snuggle down under a chunky knit blanket in front of an old movie or a classic novel. I love to entertain at home, too. Sharing laughs and stories over something home-cooked and hearty with friends from all walks of life, the glow of candlelight and a good bottle of wine is my idea of a fabulous evening.

One of the reasons I am so passionate about this job and probably the most important aspect of my business is the relationships I make along the way. For me, party and wedding planning isn’t just about getting the job done; it’s about getting to know my clients, having lunch, going for coffee (although I’m actually a tea drinker). That way, my couples have fun, feel relaxed and know they are in safe hands.
