Nancy and Jon’s wedding journey began with dreams of an outdoor celebration following their engagement in Italy. Initially considering Claridge’s for their ceremony and a marquee reception at home, they quickly realised their garden wouldn’t provide a suitable space for the vision they had in mind. With a sentimental connection to Claridge’s (given that Nancy’s parents spent their wedding night there 30 years ago and Jon’s mother surprised his late father with a night away there before his passing), they sought to transform the space within the Ballroom to align with their wedding vision.
Collaborating closely with the couple, our team created a design proposal to re-style the space in a unique, unexpected and unforgettable way. The ceremony was hosted in the Ballroom Lobby, where the enchanting aroma of Jo Malone candles elegantly filled the air. All for Love London created the most exquisite floral meadows which adorned the aisle, leading to a floral arch that framed the doorway where the couples exchanged their vows to the melody of a stunning string trio.
Following their ceremony, guests were guided to The French Salon and Drawing Room for the drinks reception. An Italian-esque acoustic trio played softly in the background as everyone tucked into canapés, oysters and champagne. Live portrait sketching also took place as guests mingled, elevating the occasion with a luxurious entertainment touch. Back inside the Ballroom, three long runs of tables were styled to floral perfection with low urn centrepieces, blue tapered candles, Claridge’s signature golden charger places, Maison Margaux gilded cutlery, bespoke embroidered napkins, gold foiled menus and hand-calligraphed cloud name cards thoughtfully placed on pale grey tablecloths.
At the other end of the Ballroom, a black and white dancefloor, along with a stage adorned with a large floral installation, created the illusion of a garden performance. During the dinner, a roaming magician entertained guests by making tequila shots magically appear. The Ballroom then underwent its third and final transformation, boasting a custom-round bar in the centre while a jazz trio played during the cocktail hour and Elan Artists show band performed on the stage for the remainder of the night. It was an event that artfully fused sentimental touches, meticulous design and unforgettable moments at Claridge’s.
