CLARE AND WILL

WEDDING DAY

A MARQUEE WEDDING AT HOME IN CAMBRIDGE

Having designed and delivered a wedding at the same family home where the bride’s brother also celebrated his wedding two years prior, we had the pleasure of working with Clare and Will to curate their love story in the same setting. However, we aimed to craft a style-infused celebration that felt uniquely different to the couple. The groom’s colour blindness guided our palette, favouring blue and white, two colours that remained vibrant for him. We also endeavoured to honour the bride’s heritage (she is half-Chinese), introducing a splash of lucky red throughout the décor as a nod to Chinese symbolism.

With a legal ceremony conducted the previous year due to the global pandemic, the couple opted for a celebrant-led ceremony in a clear marquee that was erected within the garden. This fully transparent structure provided panoramic views of the glorious grounds and gardens, not to mention the sky (which we knew was guaranteed to be even more enchanting once the evening drew in). After the ceremony, a drinks reception followed before guests transitioned to a pole tent marquee, where breathtaking florals by Amie Bone, detailed place settings and luxurious gold touches awaited.

Embracing an engaging layout, we incorporated a mixture of long trestle tables and round tables, utilising a variation of linens to introduce texture and interest. As Clare and Will’s dining experience unfolded, we seamlessly transformed the ceremony marquee into a vibrant evening space. A disco ball descended, a black dancefloor was laid and luxury lounge furniture set the stage for a night of magic. We also surprised the groom with a stunning ice sculpture, courtesy of the bride’s parents.

The evening unfolded with fireworks, dancing and late-night cocktails. From the distinctive touches, the cultural nods and dynamic transformations, it was a pleasure to plan Clare and Will’s Cambridge wedding.
