An interview with Floraldeco: Bridal bouquets!

I am a huge fan of Rebecca’s work and from these photographs, you will see why. It’s a huge pleasure to introduce you to her and let her talk to you about bridal bouquets….

Creating a bridal bouquet has to be one of the most exciting parts of my work. It’s such a personal thing, and it matters so much to me that I get it right. It’s the one part of the flower order that is sure to get maximum attention, and will almost certainly be remembered by the bride for the rest of her life.

I work really closely with all of my clients to get to know their style and taste, and at the same time, try to learn as much as possible about their wedding.  When I’m planning and creating the bouquet, I bear in mind the bride and groom’s personality, the style of their attire, the colours and vibe of the wedding, and all the little details and touches they’re planning for their big day.

Handing over the bouquet to a bride on the morning of her wedding and watching her reaction is such a privilege. It can be quite an emotional moment as well. I’ve had some amazing reactions over the years, from a bride who literally danced round the room, to another who sobbed uncontrollably for minutes (with joy, I have to say, although I didn’t know this, until after she stopped crying!)

I’ve seen so many trends over the last 12 years, but at the moment I must admit I’m loving the latest one of the loosely styled, organic, botanical, wild and whimsical bouquets. I hope it’s here to stay for a while.
